Cherish Expands London PR Team
It is a busy time here at Cherish HQ in London, with client events, campaigns and projects galore and we are pleased to announce that the Cherish team has grown with the addition of two new London PR professionals – Sara and Jordan. Here is a little bit about them…
Q:Tell us a little bit about yourselves?
Sara: I have been working in PR for over five years. I graduated from the University of Plymouth where I studied Theatre and Performance, and since then have worked in the music and entertainment industry. I’ve worked on everything from album and single promotions, tours, festivals to books. After having jumped into the world of freelancing for a while, I am delighted to have been welcomed into the Cherish family. Whilst my experience has led me to meet some incredible people, learning a hell of a lot, I feel that this is only set to continue as I begin my journey with Cherish!
Jordan: I have recently started my PR adventure here in London, fresh from completing my master’s degree in Media and Communications (Data Analysis) at LSC. Previously I worked in Canada (my home country) completing internships at PR agencies. Originally I started my journey here at Cherish as an intern, but I have recently been promoted to Account Executive. The PR landscape in Canada is so different compared to the UK, so whilst the principles of PR are similar, it has been great getting to know the local media here in the UK.
Q: What is the best thing about working in PR?
Sara: The best thing about working in PR is the feeling when you get when creative ideas become reality, and all the hard work pays off!
Jordan: Storytelling; bringing a concept to life when speaking with the media. They say it’s all about building relationships and communication in PR, and that certainly rings true when working with the media.
Q: What has been your career highlight so far?
Sara: I was once praised in Music Week for my online PR work on the top 10 charting Katie Melua album, ‘Ketevan’. Whilst you know in yourself when you have done a good job, it was really great to be recognised by an industry-leading publication. I still have the clipping saved away!
Jordan: Whilst I am still early on in my PR career, I feel that hitting the ground running in a brand new region is an achievement in itself. Quickly grasping the breadth, format and style of the UK media has been a whirlwind but a great achievement.
