Top Travel Hacks for Spring/Summer 2018
It’s time to wave goodbye to winter, ditch your heavy coats and plan your sunshine-filled holidays. Stuck on where to go and need some travel inspiration? We’ve got you covered with some suggestions of our favourite cities in Europe, plus our top travel hacks.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
With an endless amount of options of things to do, Amsterdam is a city that comes alive in the warmer months. It offers all-day music festivals, explore the canals by boat or barbecue in the park. Movie buffs looking to unwind can watch the new releases against a backdrop of some of Amsterdam’s top scenic sights at an open-air or rooftop cinema.
Travel Hack Tip #1: If you’re only carrying hand luggage, manage your baggage with Lifepack (above via Indiegogo) – a carry on closet suitcase from Indiegogo Marketplace, with an integrated retractable shelf and TSA approved lock. With it, you can stay organised and ensure nothing gets lost in the vortex of your suitcase.
Copenhagen, Denmark
Looking for a quick weekend break? The warmer months are the best time to rent a bike and conquer the streets of Copenhagen and explore the beautiful cathedrals, museums, castles and churches. Foodie fanatics will love the city as there are food markets galore and restaurants that open up their alfresco dining spaces when the sun begins to shine.
Travel Hack Tip #1: Consider using The Voyage Bag (below) – a travel bag that has multi-functional interior dividing pouches – for this trip. Its 2-in-1 design allows it to act as a comfortable backpack or transform into a full-size duffel bag for travel ease.
Travel Hack Tip #2: The best way to describe Copenhagen’s street style is casual and ‘effortlessly cool’. To fit in, ensure that your travel wardrobe consists of a range of staples including a white button down top, tailored pair of jeans and a classic, fashionable watch (below – DKNY Ladies’ Soho Watch).
Barcelona, Spain
Get your Gaudi fix by heading to Antoni Gaudí’s most well-known works: La Sagrada Familia (our personal favourite), Parc Güell, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Barcelona has a plethora of beaches which are perfect to bask in the sun and achieve that perfect skin-kissed glow. While you’re at it, catch up on your favourite books from Folio Society or soak up knowledge from some of Carlton Book’s best-sellers such as Myth-Busting Your Body (below). If you’re looking for some adventure, join the locals for a competitive volleyball match.
There are an overwhelming number of things to do and see at Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Barcelona. It’s best to check out a mix of tourist must-sees with some local flavour to give you a taste of what they’re really like. Don’t forget, utilise those travel hacks so you can travel in style!
